Because we have to release Wild fish I have stopped using bait for these fish and chinook. A Fish Flash flasher with a wide variety of spoons works
well. Don't have down riggers? Try a Delta diver in the front. In the ocean we only fish 13 to 20ft down using this method.
Coho like fast trolling so don't be afraid to pick up the speed. In the ocean we have had many break our leader so use 30lb leader and up.

Enjoy your success and take care of what's left of our wild stocks.

And especially for Coho, it's a lot more fun to fish without the flasher.  I'll use a spoon with no flasher or a tomic plug and in the ocean have been known to troll 3 knots if the target is Coho.  I do use a ball bearing swivel 6-7 feet in front of the spoon to keep the kinks out.

I haven't personally used a flasher for several years.  I think you may catch more fish with the flasher, but it's lot more fun without one.

Some say if you use a bigger hook you don't catch the smaller fish.  They can't get there mouth around it, I don't know about that one.  I do know on 6 & 7 inch tomic plugs with a bigger hook, you don't catch the smaller kings or Coho, so it may be true.
